REFUGE--4th & 5th Grade

REFUGE is an exciting, safe haven for our preteens--a place for them to connect with caring Christian adults
who respect them as individuals, who enjoy being with them and most of all--who want to equip them with
sound biblical truths as they prepare to enter their teen years.
REFUGE is NOT a Sunday only type of thing--lots of special events are planned to help forge bonds
with leaders and peers that will endure throughout their middle and high school years.
Friends are always welcome!
Parents, you are encouraged to join us for any ministry event and if you have questions about the ministry or think you would like to investigate serving in this ministry, contact us, we'd love to talk with you!

Students begin Sunday morning with a time of community--enjoying doughnuts and juice--then things start hopping with great praise and worship, games, drama, and Bible based lessons that teach them how to apply the truths of the Bible to their everyday lives. No REFUGE on these ALL Worship Sundays: Sept. 5, Nov. 28, and Dec. 26. Enjoy worship with your family! |

Students meet for Diggin' Deep--an opportunity for the students to expand on what they are learning on Sunday mornings as well as yet another opportunity to interact with their leaders and peers with special events. No Diggin' Deep on these Sunday Nights: Nov. 28 (Hanging of the Greens service for the whole family), Dec. 26. |

REFUGE students will be leading a churchwide food drive for the North Gwinnett Co-op. Bags will be given out to the congregation for food donations all through the month of September. |

REFUGE students will help pack shipping boxes with the shoeboxes that are delivered to our church from all around this area for Operation Christmas Child. |

We will have a special Christmas celebration this morning. |

Confirmation Class |
Confirmation Class is for 5th through 8th grade students who may or may not have been baptised as infants. The class will help students make an informed decision for themselves about committing their lives to Christ. More info and registration. |

Cost is $50. Mark your calendar! Loads of fun and great worship! We'll travel to Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain each day and we'll have a lock in on Friday night here at SHUMC. Register online. |
| Local Mission Focus 4th and 5th GRADE Feb. 6-March 6 |
During the month of February students will be collecting needed items for the church's benevolence mission. On March 6 the students will be assembling the kits. |

Join us for fun, games and excitement. |
| Step Up! Sunday 4th and 5th GRADE May 1 |
All students will move up to their next grade level. This gives the students all summer to accustom themselves to their new grade level without the added pressure of adjusting at school as well. |
| Student Life Camp 5th GRADE June 10-13 |
Our 5th grade students (rising 6th graders) have the opportunity to attend Student Life Camp in Talledega, Alabama with Pastor Janet. |
